Private Plan Changes

It is an effects based transport cost system that allocates charges depending on the surrounding land use. Land uses that generate higher traffic volumes, such as dairy farming, are deemed to receive greater benefit from the expenditure and so they are charged higher than those that recieve less benefits.

Traffic Micro-Simulation

Road traffic micro-simulation is a computer modelling system that represents the behaviour of individual vehicles and their drivers in a road network. The cumulative effect of modelling individual vehicles is to realistically represent road traffic flow on a physical road network. The term ‘micro-simulation' refers to the analytical detail of the model rather than simulation of a small area.
